I'm so sorry I forgot to mention this in the main post.

The neighborhood is collecting money for the Artist household who was forced to evacuate their home last simday. The family's home had to be condemned after being overrun with gardeners. The family was unable to take any of their personal belonging with them and, do to depreciation values, they were not completely reimbursed for their losses.

In addition to happening during the holiday season, this comes at a particularly difficult time for the family. The Artists, Sidney and April are only a day away from elderhood, where they should be thinking about their retirement, not starting over. Their elder daughter is just starting university and they have a young daughter still at home to support.

The council has approved the reimbursement the Artist's losses, but it may be some time before the family finds a new home.
