DOWNTOWN WELCOMES SMOKEY JANE JAZZ CAFE
-Smokey Jane's Jazz Cafe has opened downtown much to the delight of older residents. The cafe features a full bar, full service resturaunt with renowned local chef Nicole Kent overseeing operations, covered lit garden terrace coffee area that you must see to believe and a live jazz band. See Apple Valley's own Esperanza Marsh play her soulful bass every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7-11. Good luck finding the mysterious owner, Jane, our reporters tried to no avail.

DONATION WILL FUND ARTS COMPLEX
-After the recent death of Apple Valley's own leading man, Thomas Dawson, it was discovered that the his will left §30,000 towards the building of a multifunctional arts complex. According to the will, the complex is to have areas for musical performances, pratice rooms for drama, dance and musical arts, and a lecture hall for noted speakers. The family is accepting proposals for the design of the new complex. His widow-Maria Dawson, has donated her portion of the will to fund several §750 scholarships for students excelling in creativity and charisma. "What am I going to do with the money, I don't have much longer left here myself!"

UP AND COMING SIMS
-There have been several businesses opening up in Apple Valley and one would have to be blind not to see that one family seems to be behind all of this. The Kents. Ricardo and Linda have long since given up the reins to daughter, Nicole, noted chef, and son-in-law Samuel, business tycoon and founder of Groceries2Go. The young pair has steadily brought failing businesses and turned them to gold and even developed new concepts including: CupaJava (local coffee shop/bookstore) and Bernard's Botonical Dining (renovated downtown resturaunt featuring a modern fusion of Tiki Island and asian dishes). The dynamic duo is said to be making plans to add the brand new Smokey Jane's Jazz Cafe and the Silver Kettle Coffee Carts to thier profolio in the near future. Expect to see this family rise in thier pursuit of business tycoonship.

SNOWFALL EXPECTED TO CEASE SOON
-The weather report has predicted that snowfall that recently coated Apple Valley will soon stop and that the snow will melt by early next year-this is the first time in the new dimension that Apple Valley has seen snow, but the residents look forward to more of the fluffy cold stuff.

CALL TO POPULATE
-Apple Valley has seen a decrease in the number of births recently and the Hood Council is encouraging residents to birth more babies for the sake of taxes. How else are you going to enjoy those welfare items in your golden years?

RETIRMENT HOME PROPOSED
-As many elders have enjoyed lengthened lives, they are beginning to demand a retirement home to spend thier last days. "I don't like crowding my daughter's home-she just celebrated her elder birthday and four cranky elders in the house is too many" said one embittered elder. The hood council is currently reviewing the feasibility of such an establishment.

DOWNTOWN RESIDENTAL LOTS TO BE OFFERED
-The Hood Council has purchased two large plots of land downtown to create planned communities. One community will feature four trailer homes and a small convience store, the other will feature four modern condos and lofts with a small shopping center-featuring grocery store and small park. Plans are being reviewed and at the moment only two lots from each community will be available. This is part of the new Hood Council's goal of increasing the size and scope of residential lots to provide residents with much needed space and variety without damaging the overall asethics of the hood.
