* Age of Business completed *
Our local Age of Business spans simdays 45-60, and is now completed. It's been a very exciting period in Simmerville with 9 out of 10 possible community businesses and several home businesses, too. Thanks to the OFB deal our downtown area developed nicely, as well.
Our financial situation is better than ever, and the Hood Council suggests that a big sum should be spent on upgrading the hood's student house on campus.
This also completes the work of the current Hood Council. You can read individual notes from their work if you visi their offices (the HOOD section).
We are now ready to enter Age of Pets, which will last for 15 simdays.
* Student or trainee day 61-64? *
Are you a young Simmervillian looking to prepare yourself for a regular job or your own business? Our Social Services coordinates applications, and the following possibilities are up for anyone who can start on day 61 (next chance will be day 66). Duration: simdays 61-64.
Craft & Business School, dt:
2 students, you choose one crafting and one store job and will gain minimum 1 badge for each + one perk from the school management.
Johanna's Kitchen, Simmerville:
1 teen is welcome to stay with the Grumblin family, helping with the delicatessy store (cash register mostly), but you can also cook easy meals for the restaurant and read up on cooking.
RoboTech, dt:
1 trainee will craft robots. No badges needed, but some mechanical skill required.
Ma'Zalon, dt:
1 trainee for our homebased salon. You will do makeovers and build cleaning skills through helping out in the house.

* Immigration, simday 60 *
We welcome the Fresco family who moved into the house at 1 Avenue de Lobos today. Bellue Fresco descends from the Frescos who built the house, and former spokes sim Juliana (Fresco) Valentino, was Bellue's Aunt. Johan Fresco was even born in Simmerville but has lived downtown for some time. They bring 2 children, twins Rodney and Siliza aged 10.
* Food Expo ongoing *
The Food Expo 2006 booths at Mervil Market is reported to be a success. More visitors than expected, and a couple speeches by Bart Gobelin and Annalica Grumblin attracted the masses. A new food related exhibition is popular also. There are also temporary bbq area, lemonade stand and kitchen application shows during the Expo that lasts day 60-62.
In addition recordings for the dinner film has started in the many homes. This project will be completed on simday 70.
* Election on simday 61 *
There will be a new election on day 61. We expect a finale result in a few days, check back then!
