We'd all like to help horses which are in need, they are everywhere, I recently saw some in Rosewood Queensland, you couldn't say they were neglected as such but they were essentially wild, no trimming no handling just fed and left. Is that neglect or abuse for a horse??
I agree that some people want crazy prices for horses which otherwise would be taken off of them but our RSPCA does not have the power to fine them or give them the big enough fright to take heed of warnings regarding their animals. If each of us even those of us who struggle could put $5 away each week between all of us who proclaim to be horse lovers we could afford to help all these or at least some of these horses we see in need around. I don't have the room for many horses at my property but gladly give what I can through a small business I have.
Youre right though some people have animals and can't or won't take care of them, what do we do then? I guess that if the proper gov bodies got behind it we'd not be fighting a losing battle but we are and they won't. I still think that if we all got that $5 each week we probably waste on trivial junk and put it in a bank account and donated it to the ECG each year we'd be much better off or at least the horses would. Does anyone realise that they slaughter horses sometimes in foal and also foals at some places, and also other animals are sent to slaughter have babies and the babies are left to die? I'm sorry if this all sound morbid but its the truth and its time we all saw some of these things for what they are.
