Hi Vera, My Dad Des Young was also a Fireman At Abertillery but maybe a little later in the 60s. I can Only remember a couple of the other Firemens names, Jim Ruddock I think he lived in Blina and Ken Morgan(I went to school with his daughter Kay).
I can remember popping in through the little door to see dad when he was on nightsand on "watch" probably not allowed really.
Sadly Dad died 6 years ago. Thanks for brining back the memories Vera.
