reading about the Monkey parade in abertillery brought back lovely memories to me as i also enjoyed them, i also remember the carnivals, and what about the sports at Abertillery park, with the cycle racing around the outside of the field, was that exciting or not, does anyone have any photos of this ?Does anyone remember Mr Parsons coming around in his three wheeler van selling parafin and pots and pans ? i enjoyed Marenghis Cafe in the Arcade his ice cream was the best ever! I went to the Church School did anyone else reading this ? my friends were Nellie Hindler, Marjorie Ralph, Marian Gill and Kathleen Connely. My husband Ness Edwards was in the Fire Service at Aber in the 50s also when the fire station was in CASTLE Street, Must stop they were good times though !!1
