Subject: Farquhars in Abertillery

I have found Abertillery Online very interesting and what a wonderful collection of photos & memories...

This is a long shot, but I am interested in information on Ronald Arthur Farquhar b. 2 Oct 1913 in Abertillery
(married 19 Aug 1945 Birmingham & died abt 1984 Plymouth). [My brother-in-law's grandfather].

His father was: Arthur Hervey Farquhar, a baker, b. abt 1874 Abergavenny (married abt 1897 Crickhowell).

His mother was Alice Maud Pitman, a dressmaker, b. 22 April 1876 Crickhowell (died 27 Feb 1942 Abertillery)

His brother was Kenneth Campbell Farquhar, b. abt. 1899 Abertillery

Alice Maud Pitman's father was Charles Pitman, a baker & confectioner, b. abt 1840 Abergavenny (married abt 1869 Abergavenny & died after 1901)

Her mother was Mary Jones b. abt 1844 Bridgewater, Somerset & died abt 1896

Because of the dates, I imagine Ronald & Kenneth were born and lived in Abertillery with their parents, I would be glad of any information to do with the family or The Pitmans.

I wonder if you might know of the family or know someone who might?

Thanks

Rexie Akwei
