On a more light hearted tone about an incident that once happened to me regarding speaking Welsh.
I was travelling back from France on an overnight ferry and had reserved a reclining seat. When I took occupancy, my row was empty except for the man next to me. Next morning as the lights were turned on the family in front of me turned around and said to this man "What's your new girlfriend like?"(in welsh - meaning me) You should have seen their faces when I told them that he only scored 4 out of 10 (in Welsh.) Moral of the story-
You never know who speaks Welsh!
