Actually Llanelly Carmarthenshire - was given a bilingual spelling in the 60's which became Llanelli. Prior to that it was always spelt with a "Y".
In recent years the Welsh place names have been given bilingual equivalent or as near to as translation will allow. Hope this information helps you.
