 I went into this little chat room thingy b/c I love horses and all animals for that matter. I was hoping to see some kind of intellectual disscussions to respond to...but I couldn't find any. Because this was the most rediculous, dumb ass discussion, I just felt the need to hopefully educate a few of you guys on " the evils of slaughter houses" Next year I'm going to Virginia Tech to major in Agriculture/Animal+Poultry Sciences and slaugter houses are an essential part of agrigulture. I'm not sure where ya'll got all of your slaughter house facts-- they were all very interesting but I'm sorry to inform you they were all wrong as hell. I especially liked the message from "Sandy" where she said they hang horses upsidedown and let them bleed to death while they cut their thraots and I learned from another Forum Expert that the evil slaughter house workers only use blunt, dull knives. That is sooo funny!.. Because its not true. Did you hear that from one of your smart-ass friends or did you decide to make it up yourself?
O.K. Here's the deal: Slaugter house workers do not hate animals and do not make this a painful experience for the animal. It's their job... they're the ones working their butts off to get steaks and hamburbers and chicken nuggets on your plate. And if you're one of those veggie freaks who thinks it is SOOOOO Cruel and Gross to eat animal meat, then you need some serious help and education. Leathal injection or shooting the animal are the methonds used. And no, it does not hurt to get shot if you are shot properly in the brain or heart. If you got shot there, you wouldn't notice a thing. For those of you who are now freaking out and saying "EWWWWWWW a gun!?! Shooting the helpless animal??!!?" that is why we don't hire little dumb ass pansies like you in slaughter houses. Without slaughter houses, millions would lose jobs(Livestock Production farmers + ranchers and meat packing plant workers, etc.)and also millions would starve. Does that mean anything to you?? Slaughter houses aren't evil. Get a life.
