The very gracious Trey-Trey asked me to be the 1st one to give AMC's new opening a grade on this first class website.
MUSIC: A+ Brilliant! By going back to a former theme song and modernizing it, is what the entire soap genre needs to do! Go back into the past/history, take something good,
and bring it back in a modern style. The soap viewer isn't interested in something totally new, we like aspects of the past, including a new version of a nice old theme we fondly remember.
CONTINUITY: A+ Since the premiere episode, AMC has used a photo book, I applaud AMC/ABC for keeping a tradition, something the old theme started to turn away from.
PHOTOS: A+ Crisp photos, love the additional background photos.
LETTERING: F Do they think we are idiots? PC was the first to start having characters names with the photo of
that character. Some will say, its a way to help new viewers, BS! I did just fine learning characters names on every single soap I started watching, and so have the millions of other soap fans. We don't need it on a soap opening, unless we are idiots! personally I prefer non-actor photo openings, DAYS, ATWT (original/70-80/early 90s) theme, SB.... but I don't hold actors photos in a theme against a soap. but I will hold it aginast them when they sink to a level of insulting the audience, as they are here.
FINAL GRADE: B (The last category really hurt them) LOL
