Very simply: It's nice to have friends in high places.

If Linda Dano's good friend Angela Shapiro (former ABC head) wasn't there, she would have NEVER gotten the
deal she got. There were rumors... Angie even considered picking up AW! What a friend! :)

All of this shouldn't be taken as an insult to Linda Dano, she is a very talented actress and seems to be a very nice woman.

Time has shown, most stunts like this DONT WORK!
Its all about CONTENT CONTENT CONTENT! The AW fans
that were left, all 23 of them! LOL Determine whether or not to watch a soap based on content, Linda Dano could have been on everyday, but most of them won't watch anymore if they don't like the show.

P.S. Stunts do sometimes pay off, although in order for it to work, a soap MUST be a solid good show overall, that one person or big story will only lure in new viewers, its up to the overall show to keep them watching day after day.
