Oh Trey-Trey! You remembered! Thanks for the beautifully written SB tribute. I just wish a cable network would air SB reruns, so you could finally watch SB!
Here is the message I had written, before Trey-Trey stole my thunder! LOL But I'm happy he did!
18 Years Ago Today.....
NBC-TV premiered "Santa Barbara". Set in Santa Barbara, CA, the show originally focused on the Capwell, Lockridge, Perkins, and Andrade families. SB was only the 2nd soap opera to premiere in the hour-long format. (TEXAS was
the first, SUBE and PSSNS are the only others, ironically, or maybe not, all of them aired on NBC) SB Creators Bridget and Jerome Dobson were concerned with SB's initial low ratings, they realized the show needed a revamp, so in
late 1984, a major earthquake rocked Santa Barbara resulting in several recasts and a complete creative shake-up to indicate a new SB rose from the ashes, and that it did! This began the Glory Days of Santa Barbara, 1985-1987. I won't go any further since its SBs birthday its best to just remember the good times :)
Now 18 years later, SB's 2137 episodes/ 8.5 year run is still fondly remembered by millions of fans around the world.
Visit SB's sites in Russia and France to get a glimpse of how the world remembers the great Santa Barbara: Lucky for us, these sites are the English version! :) The French site is 1st rate, lots of stuff!!!!! The Russian's
English version is new, and has less content, but the Russian side of it seems to have a lot! They love SB over there! So much, I believe SB is airing in Russia again in the form of reruns.

Russian website: http://www.santa-barbara.ru/en/
And of course the Best SB site in the world, the "Official" American web site for SB: http://www.cybercom.net/~jima/sbhome.html
P.S. Happy Belated 18th Birthday Trey-Trey!
1984 was a good year! :)
