Could Jake be the one who killed Nick??? EPLIN OFF ATWT Tom Eplin, who plays Jake McKinnon on As the World Turns, is finishing up his ride in Oakdale. A show spokesperson confirms that the Emmy-nominated actor will depart the show this spring. Eplin, who originated the role of Jake McKinnon on Another World in 1985, successfully segued the character onto the ATWT canvas in July 1999. During his three-year run, Jake witnessed the death of his true love Vicky (played by Jensen Buchanan, another AW transplant) and found love with Molly Conlon, portrayed by Emmy Award-winning actress Lesli Kay. ATWT declined to comment on whether McKinnon's departure is storyline-dictated, or if the role will be recast. Will Kay follow in her onscreen hubby's footsteps? "At this moment, nothing leads me to believe that," states the ATWT spokeperson. Kay's agent corroborates that the actress has no plans to leave ATWT when her contract ends this spring.
