I think half the problem is that Guza created Carly (I think) and he seems to know her the best. This writing team doesn't get Carly (nor the whole show). While I'm slightly open to seeing Tamara Braun portray Carly under Guza's pen, I still think this actress doesn't have the teeth to pull it off. It's disappointing with Jason about to return that she can't hold her own.

My suggestions for Carly is still Sarah Buxton. Yeah, I know I have a SB bias going on but she could do the role justice. Buxton totally looks like she could be Bobbie's daughter and a mob wife. She would mix it up well with Sonny and Jason not to mention be a formidable opponent versus Alexis. Braun just can't pull that off anywhere near the way Buxton would.
