NEW YORK (Variety) - Had anyone taken a peek at ABC.com's show store Web site before Wednesday, they could have purchased a Todd Rag Doll. Made in the likeness of "One Life to Live's" popular Todd Manning, the soap character toy costs $19.95.

"Todd is an all-cloth doll with brown felt hair and blue eyes," reads the description. "He is 20 inches standing. He wears a blue shirt and black pants."

He is also a homicidal serial rapist.

He even has a scar on his face from a victim who slashed his face. To be true to the character, the doll has a sizable gash to show for it. But 10 years have passed since that dark phase in Todd's life. He has since settled down with his wife, Blair, and his daughter Starr.

After reading a complaint about the Todd Rag Doll in "The Jack Myers Report," Daily Variety called to see if we could snag one for ourselves. But we found only disappointment.

"We never had it, sir," said a salesperson from the Web site. Going the next step, we spoke to a customer service agent, who informed us the Todd Rag Doll was "sold out."

Confused, Daily Variety called ABC VP of media and talent relations Sally Schoneboom, who gave us the bad news.

"We didn't exercise proper sensitivity to the history of the character of Todd," said Schoneboom, adding, "We have re-evaluated and decided not to sell the doll." ABC has pulled Todd from the site as of Wednesday.

Well, you can still buy a Starr doll.
