You can make your soap an hour! OLTL sunk to a 2.7
last week! So ABC has another possible timeslot to fill.
Although I doubt ABC will be launching any new soaps.
They will either replace with non-soap programming or
give time back to affiliates.

I can see a day when CBS only airing Y&R and B&B,
ABC: GH and AMC and NBC out of the soap biz.

Your idea is certainly much better than any spin-off
concept thats been attempted/proposed in recent years.
I don't really care for spin-offs but your concept
seems to capture a right amount of individualism for
the new soap, with the right amount of connection to
the soap it got spun-off from. PC taking place in
the same town as GH, was just too idiotic for me since
they did little to maintain any level of continuity.
