I heard that legislation is being drafted that would make it illegal to drive while using certain prescription drugs. Does anyone know if this addresses the chronic pain population that uses rational doses of long acting opioids on an around the clock basis? I don't believe this constitutes an impaired state. Allowing the pain to get out of control, then driving would be so distracting as to be dangerous. Any thoughts?
