Dear Jen,
The best place to find out everything about adhesive disease or ARD ( adhesions related disorders) is The UK Adhesions Society http://www.adhesions.org.uk We have a database of adhesion specialists and over 300 articles on adhesions, endo, the latest barriers and many medications etc.

I have been taking Fentanyl for over a year and Oramorph for breakthrough pain without any side affects. Fentanyl has given me my life back and I dont worry about my stomach being affected by long term use of medications.

Also a lot of people including some GPs and surgeons do not understand the difference between tolerance and addiction. If you have pain your opiates will go straight to your pain. If you do not have pain and you take opiates, then you will be affected by them and can become addicted. People who take opiates for pain over a long period(several years) do become intolerant to them and it may take a few weeks or months to wean yourself of them. This is done best by cutting down your daily dose in stages. Please email me and let me know the area you are from and I will help you to find the help and support you need no matter where you are in the world.
