I am on the interferon/ribitron treatment for hepatitis C. I also have a history of back and muscle pain. At first the treatment was going well, then 3rd shot I got tremendous pain in regular and new areas - unable to function or sleep.I am trying to get tylenol/3 or something in that order because in the past that was all that worked on severe muscle/back pain for me. I had a problem with this drug about 3 years ago - but I was honest with my doctor - got off of it and learned to manage my regular pain with exercise and hard movement. I never expected to need this kind of drug for the treatment which is chemotherapy but at a lower dose. I believe that the interferon greatly affects my muscles/joints and bones much stronger than normal. My doctors are talking about taking me off treatment - but my liver biopsy was 3 out of 4 - 4 is cirosis. I have 2 young children and I am very afraid - I feel that even if I can stand the treatment without pain medication my life and my family's life will be a hell for nearly a year. Is there anyone out there that knows anything about this? I feel that I have been branded and all I want is some temporary help to get me through this treatment so that I can live -
