i had mine pre-ordered months ago so i can save. so much for that, i got suckered into buying the limited special edition at the counter. LOL!
god knows i'm a huge fan. this was good but i was left a bit unsatisfied. it's prolly because of my huge expectations most esp after Book #s 3& 4.
i was pretty much enjoying it especially when i thought Arthur Weasley was gonna die. mind you, i didn't want him to die. it was just such a heartbreaker, i was literally crying. it really made an impact.
then he lived.
i think that's when i became a bit disappointed. if Hagrid or Filch died, i wouldn't give a rat's ass. btw, do we really need another giant? a dumber one for that matter? ;)
seriously, it would've been brilliant if Ron, Hermione, Dumbledore, the Weasleys or Snape died, because these are characters that the readers have a connection with. HP may have had an emotional connection with Sirius but i'm speaking for myself here, i saw him as a disposable character. i didn't care much for him.
btw, wasn't Percy quite a prick? >:
loved Fred and George's antics and their Hogwart's exit. definitely a mother's nightmare and yet, that'
s what school legends are made of!
i must say this book is darker and boy, HP sure is a temperamental hothead, eh? raging in Dumbledore's office like that. at least Rowling caught how volatile teenagers can be. i have to say that as some point, i was on Snape's side.
oh yeah, i'm glad they made Snape less of a caricature and James, less than a saint. that's real life. people have dimensions.
btw, i didn't like the fact that Dumbledore shed a tear. it's just so wrong. :(
Ron as usual was a crack-up esp when Ginny's boyfriends and Hermy's correspondence with Viktor was involved. i'm glad he became a Quidditch member as well as a prefect. about time, he came out on his own. btw, can he get better admirers than Luna? LOLOL! freaky man!:) btw, was it me or wasn't Ron saying "mate" a lot? he's an Aussie now, LOLOL!
i have nothing much on Hermy, i do like how she stands up to HP though during his moods.
the whole Dumbledore's Army struck me both as cool and korny-ish. i do like how Neville was getting very good at it. i'm also glad that more people know about his parents.
the whole battle didn't amaze me too much, maybe because of the venue. also, i bet i'm not the only that knew what the prophecy could be?
ooh, i thought it was cool how Lupin and Moody were there. i love them both even if we got a fake Moody on Book #4.
i can't believe Book#5 is done. there's only 2 left in the saga!
