Explain what a task-based approach is. Describe its main characteristics.

Task-based approach is an approach based on an experiential learning. Students are asked to perform activities in order to develop their skills. The idea is that the students will learn more by performing the activities than by simply studying it (for example, students will learn more about a game by playing it than by simply reading its rules).

In this approach, real contexts are created for the students to do the tasks (they must reflect about the task and use their skills to "solve the problem".)


Main characteristics:
* focus on the task (language, here, is an instrument).
* the objetive of the task is to make students use language for achieving a purpose.
* the activity reflects real life
