Explain what a task-based approach is. Describe its main characteristics.
The task-based approach consists on exercises that are foced on the use of the language in order to solve problems. In this type of activity, language is just an instrument that enables students to solve the simulated problems in classroom. In fact, the activities are firstly introduced by the teacher, which provides students the vocabulary necessary that concerns to the activity. Then students interact with each others while practiceing the activity. A good example of task based activity is to simulate a real-life situation such as buying a cinema ticket or ordering for a meal in a restaurant. Finnaly the teacher gives students feed back and discuss with students about the activity. The activity must create an environment that encourage students to achieve a purpose.
