Explain what a task-based approach is. Describe its main characteristics.

The task-based approach uses activities that emphasis the communication. It is not only questions and answers, but also a real communicative process that takes the students to produce ideas and real meaning in their talking.
During the activities learners can be to encourage using the target language to solve problems. They can interact with one another and create possibilities to use their vocabulary and grammar rules in a true situation. In this way students make their own speeches according to their own needs.
However, teachers have to know how organized these activities. In a first moment, they introduce the main words of this activity for the students in a second moment can solve the matters in the exercise. Learners in this moment also can change information with another learner, practicing the language all the time. Later, students show to everybody aspects of the subject and teachers can give a feedback.
