Subject: Fifth Task

The Fractual Approach states that second language learning takes place with complexity and that such a process does not happen through steady and fixed steps. Second language acquisiton is complex as one cannot disregard individual characteristics, which play an important role to the learning of another language. Also, such a process in umpredictable and does not depend on how much input a instructor gives to his or her students but the acquisiton of a foreign language crops up according to the context in which language is taught together with the quantity and quality of input available. Thus, learning is not a linear process. On the other hand, Krashen is much more concerned to the target language input which a student is given through his learning process. In another words, second language learners acquire the target language when he or she is exposed to second language input that is ahead from his or her knowledge. In conclusion, I agree that someone needs to have a lot of input in order to get more acquainted as well as in contact with the target language, but one cannot take for granted that foreign language acquisition does not solely depend on input but also on individual differences and the way language is taught in order to get one understanding a second language.
