TASK 7

I agree with Ryan when he says that “Lessons need a routine or framework” especially if the object of teaching – the students – are beginners or young students because otherwise discipline problems may jeopardize the flow of the class.

Students are always students and therefore their attitude in class is to wait for instructions and guidance, especially when they are in a FL course, where the feeling of insecurity and fear to make mistakes may be stronger than their willingness to learn.

By analysing the lesson plan suggested (and not being really aware of the age and level –grades from 9 to 12 – of the students) I would say that this lesson could work well for post-intermediate and advanced learners, once the subject proposed requires both, a cretain knowledge of the language and a maturity readiness to discuss such issue. Besides, as a communicative class, not teacher-centered, it would function better with older students for discipline problems are less likely to happen.

It seems to be a very good plan and likely to be very profitable for the students if their maturity, age and intimacy with the language are taken into account.
