Subject: Revisitando Fraga e Sombra

Olá colegas,



Gostaria de compartilhar com vocês o que, muito particularmente, aponto como o ponto alto da leitura desta semana:

“Dickison extended and composed this metaphors in novel ways. But, though she created the poem, she did not create the basic metaphors on which the poem is based. They are for her, widespread throughout Western culture, in the everyday thought of the least literate of people as well as in the greatest poetry in her traditions”.

Foi com essa idéia em mente que revisitei o poema Fraga e Sombra, do início do curso, e comecei a juntar algumas peças. Lembrei-me que muitas de nossas análises falavam em morte, apontando algumas metáforas que lá estavam. Mal sabíamos que o que nos fazia reconhece-las era exatamente o fato de sua base não ser inédita. Relembremos: Baixa severa a luz crepuscular ( A LIFETIME IS A DAY: brith is dawn, maurity is noon, old age is twilight, the momente of death is sunset. E mais: O alfanje que o sono e sonho ceifa ( PEOPLE ARE PLANTS). Será ?
