Subject: Fantasy PBR game

Howdy All, Looks like it is time to get our PBR game going if we are going to do it this year. I've posted the rules below. I checked this morning and you can easily find the 2009 points standings on the PBR's website. So start looking at the points and get your team posted. The first event that we will use starts on January 2nd, so you will need to get your team posted by then. I will be out of town starting December 28th so I won't be confirming teams after the 27th. You can still post them, but make sure you've picked carefully, cause if there is a problem with your team I won't be able to let you know until it is too late! Pick your team and cheer them on. Joann

1. Teams will consist of a total of 8 cowboys and will equal 180 points. The cowboy’s position in the 2009 POINTS standings will be used to determine the number of points. All cowboys that finished lower in 2009 than 45th will be counted as 45 points for the purpose of creating a team.

2. If the cowboy is not in the draw for the event the team captain has the option of trading that cowboy for another cowboy who is in the draw and ranks lower than that cowboy in the current PBR point standings. If the cowboy missing from the draw is the team’s highest ranked cowboy, the captain can trade for any cowboy that is in the draw. If the team captain trades the original cowboy, that cowboy will NOT return to the team when the cowboy returns to competition. If the team captain wants to keep the cowboy that is not in the draw they do not have to trade, but they will take a zero for that cowboy for the event. For the purpose of trades, all cowboys lower in the current point standings than 45 will be considered equal and can be traded for any other cowboy 45 or lower.

3. There will be trading periods every 6 or 7 events and one right before the start of the finals. Any cowboy on the team can be traded during the trading period. The trading period will be announced at least one week in advance of the trading period. Rules for trading are the same as for injury trades.

4. For the purpose of trades, we will use the 2009 points standings until the Winston-Salem Invitational (Feb 5th & 6th). After the first trading period, the current point standings as listed on the PBR website will be used for trades.

5. There will be no injury trades made within an event.

6. The top two finishers will receive token prizes in addition to having bragging rights for the year. Good luck all.

I've got Marylou's team recorded. Dar, your team only has 155 points. You need to get them to 180.

am I counting wrong? I keep coming up with 184. Maybe I have a cowboy at the wrong ranking?

Dar, you are right. I figured you were so good that you only needed 7 cowboys on your team.

Unbelivable... Can't even get through the first event without a trade... I see that Gomes in not in the draw so please put Reese Cates on both teams JAG and SLG. Sorry Joann, sure hope that I don't have the same luck as last year and need subs almost every week! Hope you're having a good time off and Happy New Year!!
