Well we're down to the last couple of hours. And I am down to 5 riders (Nunes out last night and today). Hey Beckie... How about giving me some sympathy points!? Yea... I didn't think so :)

Scarey wreck with JB last night. Don't know what the final outcome is but I sure hope he's not hurt as bad as it looked.

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to put my faith in Marchi. Looks like Justin is not in the mood of giving up. What a couple of great rides over the last couple of days. If he keeps this up, there's no way anybody can catch him.

Good luck to all the riders. Here's hoping for a great final day with no injuries.

Wow... And to think he drew Camo... That's spooky! What a great 1, 2, 3 riders to finish. And congratulations to Wiley. What a great performance!

Well I didn't see Nunes on the draw earlier today so I was very surprised to see him. Don't know why he didn't show up on what I was looking at but it ended up not making any difference in my score.

If I did end up on top it was as much luck as anything! Thanks to Joann for keeping track of it all. I can't even keep track of my team, never mind all those others. And congratulations to Beckie, Jerid, Booman, etc., who made it such a tight race.

It's kind of sad that the season is over because it was such an exciting one. Of course who knows what next year will bring.

Again, congratulations to Justin. And kudo's to Marchi for being such a class act. I sure won't beat against him next year!

Yep, I know the feeling with Marchi, Beckie. Back in early September, I tried to get cute and sneaky and took Lee when I knew I should have taken Marchi.

Now, I have 5 of my team in the top 12 at the Finals and Lee ain't rode a bull yet. I'd have to figure it, but I think if I had taken Marchi back then, I'd be right up there with y'all. Oh well, as we say here in Texas, pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered. Maybe Wiley P can ride me to a Top 5 Finish anyway. I think he, Marchi and Billy Robinson are the only ones that have rode 4 of 5.

Here's hoping Justin can hold on and win the Championship.

Well if I had been really smart I would have taken Wiley when I had to trade away Paulo a few weeks ago. But I always have had 20/20 hindsight! Will be an interesting next 3 rides for the boys. Any of them deserve it.

We sure hope to be in Vegas next year. I can't believe how much I'm missing not being there for the 2nd year in a row.

Wow... Who would have thought that Justing wouldn't ride any of his 3 bulls? Maybe he's not fully recovered from the illness. I'd be surprised if he doesn't get back into his real form this coming weekend though.

And what a Finals Marchi is having (Sorry Beckie :) (a little inside joke between us))! It's almost too bad that they have to have a break because he is sure on a roll!

Of course JB is not going away either. It's great to see a close race getting even closer. Looks like the PBR is getting what they wanted by making the Finals be the place where the championship is really determined.

There are still a lot of points and $$ up for grabs. Looks like Kody Lostroh is going home with quite a bit of money. And how excited was Tony Mendes after that nice ride?! I still think that if he could just get on a 3-4 ride streak, he'd be back into top 10 form.

Sure miss being there. Of course with our daughter's wedding a couple of weeks ago, the Finals got put off to next year. I tried to convice her that I'd be glad to see if I could get Cody to do the service during on of the intermissions but.... Well, let's just say that idea didn't fly :)

Now I've got a question for Joann... I don't know if one of my riders (Nunes) is going to not compete the 2nd weekend because he got stepped on and may be injured. Do I pick a replacement if he's not in the draw? And if so, do I use the qualifier or year end standings? Sorry for the confusion but you know how thick I can be.

Also, thank you to all who responded to my email address request. For anyone who is afraid that I'm putting together one of those "chain" emails or something like that, please be sure I wouldn't do that. I don't mean to make it a mystery but I kind of need to keep it that way right now. I hope to have it all finished up within the next few days.

first let me get this out of the way..Jag,(smack)j/k...Marchi is doing great! Im kinda in a bad place with him.. he is making my team look bad but he is one of my favorite bullriders and I could never pull against him..SO(sigh) Justin has to come thru for me.I love the close race that we are having..makes for alot of excitement..Plus there is my neighbor JB Mauney not doing so bad either..I cant wait till Thursday.

I think I need to worry about JB most of all. Like you and Marchi, I sure can't pull against JB. It is fun that we're coming down to the last 5 rides of the year. Well for all intents and purposes... or is that intensive porposes :) ... The Finals are here! Where's the chatter on the sheet?

I'm thinking that Paulo Crimber is going to have a great Finals... As long as he can keep from getting hurt!

I'm also seeing something in Marchi's eye's that look like he's on a mission.

Tony Mendes, making a comeback from those knees and the many other unfortunate distractions. Look for the Wild Man to make a statement!

Of course, McBride is in such a 'zone', I don't think he'll miss.

What are your guys choices?

Also... Just a request... Anyone (that I haven't already emailed) who is playing the BSheet game... I'd like you to send me your email address so I can send you a question... Totaly up to you... I think Mike Lee is poised to have a good finals. I also like Kody Lostroh's chances in the opening rounds. Look for Brian Canter in round 1. The bull he's drawn has been outstanding most of the year. Ednei was 88.5 on him in Springfield and it was a relatively off trip for the bull, so I look for a potential round winner. I also concur with your thoughts on Paulo. My sleeper pick to do well in the finals would be Beau Hill, I believe he's healthy and I think he's ready to shine. Bull of the year is really going to be a toss up...I figured it was Cat Daddy's to lose with the new format, but since his injury I think Scene Of The Crash has a much better chance than before, although my personal favorite is the Chicken. One more prediction: If Mike Lee rides White Magic it won't be for enough points to win the round...I might know something, or maybe I'm crazy but I think the bull will give it up after about 5 seconds. Not that I hope he does, but that's my instinct. With that said, I thought his out with McBride earlier this year might have been the single most impressive out I've seen all year, and I've seen a lot of them both on the BFTS and other places.

Good grief, thanks for the correction. I totally misread the results and thought that they were for Grand Rapids! This has been a most interesting season with McBride, Mauney and Marchi all in mix. I am looking forward to the Finals.

Sorry I didn't get last weeks event scored. I planned on doing it last Wednesday, but when we dropped below freezing on Tuesday, I thought it was more important to figure out how to winterize my trailer, winterize the old swamp cooler and the hoses. And then it was off to the Prca playoffs, and now it is year end at work..... I hope to get caught up on Wednesday this week.

Boy does Wiley love Connecticut! Seems like he always has a good event here. Nice win for a nice guy. Only rider to ride all 4 bulls. Looks like he's going to move up in the standings and be a force at the Finals! JB had a chance to make up ground when Justin didn't ride but isn't it kind of strange how it seems JB has a hard time taking advantage of those chances?

Great to see Tony Mendes finally get a good ride. 86.25 on what I thought could have been 88 or more (of course that's why I'm not a judge!).

Adriano looked like a world champion tonight after just looking for the ground the last 2 days.

Have to say something about the crowd. I don't know if it is because of the 12 Noon starting time or what but there were WAY to many empty seats for a Sunday afternoon! I don't remember it being like that over the last couple of year. I looked behind us (we were sitting in the 4th and 5th rows) and I would estimate the maybe 60-75% of the next 5 or 6 rows were empty! Across the arena was almost the same. Again, I don't know if these were "comp" tickets that weren't used but I don't think so. We were supposdly in the "Fan Club" section so I would think that the rows around us would be the same. Maybe the PBR needs to rethink the starting time. Is it because money is tight? I don't think that should be a factor because the ticket prices have not increased in years. Is Noon too soon on a Sunday? I think that makes more senese. Maybe a 2 or 3PM time might work better? I can't say for sure but I was not impressed with the turnout. If it really is the "comp" situation, then maybe the PBR needs to work with the casino to reduce the number of tickets that are given that way. I just think that it needs to be looked at because I'd hate to see this event get put on TV and look like there are so many empty seats.

Had about 15 "1st timer's" who absolutley loved it.

Again, congrats to Wiley. We had a lot of fun with family and friends.

Mohegan Roud 1 -- JAG, Sat, Sep 29 2007, 8:04:23 (adsl-75-16-167-38.dsl.mrdnct.sbcglobal.net/75.16.167.38)

Round 1 is in the books. Tater got his wrist (free-arm) stepped on and it sure looked like it was broken. Haven't heard if that's true but it didn't look good. Austin was holding his left arm like it got hurt when he was leaving the arena. And Robetson got pounded when he was thrown off. He took a long time but was able to walk out and then looked okay at the end.

Overall, the bulls were better than a lot of Fridays during a 3 day event. Had 3, I think, re-rides. Tony Mendes looked like he had a seat on his re-ride on Carmel Corn but lost his grip around 4+ seconds. Too bad because I think it might have been one of the top scores.

Adriano is still doing the same thing he did a couple of years ago. Looking at the ground almost as soon as he gets out of the chutes. You know he's still got the talent. It's a strange mind game. But if anyone can overcome it, he can.

And of course McBride just won't be denied. His ride was almost a carbon copy of the 2005 Finals on Camo. He was hanging on the side and just won't let go. Unbelievable!

Decent crowd for a Friday. Not sold out by any means. Of course being here at the casino, you never know how many "comp" seats are just not used. A couple of guys came in and sat down in front of us about 30-45 minutes into the event. They stayed for 5 or 6 rides then went back out. They were definately "comped" (Too many of the casino personnal knew them by name!), and it's sad to see these good seats empty.

Should be a good sold out crowd tonight. Saturdays are when people are looking to get out. We've got 20 going. The big push is tomorrow when we fill up 45 seats! Looking forward to fun.

Got a chance to say hi to Tony for a couple of minutes and we are going to try to meet up today for a bite to eat either before of after the event.

May not get a chance to update until after Sunday. Hope the TV broadcast is good.

Well thank goodness I'm not an official reporter! I should have said it was Rocky McDonal who got throw hard. PBR site says that he got a concussion. He did walk out of the arena but it was with a couple of guys helping him. Also I forgot to say that Dustin Elliot hurt his shoulder. That's a seperated shoulder for him. Sorry.... Guess the brain cells are going as grey as the hair!

I'll probably be putting the jinx on myself but I think I have to do the same thing. I think that J.B. is hurt more than he's saying and that knee is affecting his riding lately. So although he's been great for my team for the whole year, I'm going to trade J.B. Mauney (my top ranked cowboy) for Justin McBride. It just looks like Justin is in such a 'zone', that he will continue to contend or win each week. Wouldn't you know that Paulo starts to ride excellant and then gets hurt! We'll have to see if he's in the draw for this weekend but I would doubt it. Of course who thought that McBride would be back so soon also.

Thanks once again Joann for this game. You're probably glad that the year is coming to a close soon. Hard to believe that only 3 more events. We're all excited that Mohegan Sun is coming up next week. Between the 3 nights/days, we got 67 tickets for all the family/friends. Each year grows and I hope to someday actually get to the 100 mark!

Let's get some conversation going on the sheet here folks! The Finals are coming. Who thinks that Justin will walk away with it. Who's the "long shot" that could surprise? I would have to say to keep your eyes on Guilherme.... He's been the "bridsmaid" a couple of times and lately I've seen that spark in him. With all the points available at the Finals, you just never know.
