What was the score going in? I thought it would take a 93 to beat him verus a buckoff and losing a lot of points.

I was wondering why Marchi made the decision he did as well. I did notice that in the locker room afterwards, he was showing some pain and with two recent wins, he took a sure 2nd place (good points and money with all the close contenders out) without risking further pain or injury. With only a few days of rest between these events, I think he used the Brazilian approach of keeping one's riding average high and taking as few risks as possible.

You both make some good observations. Yep, Marchi needed to get 20 more points if he took the re-ride which mean he would have needed to get above 92. And being a sure 2nd place, with the extra points, is probably good thinking. Maybe if he was within a couple of points of LJ he would have done it different. Oh well, like I said.. I was just kind of thinking out loud. Thanks for the feedback.
