如果大家有留意片中男配角摩根費曼的獨白，相信都知道女主角其實是住在美國的窮鄉僻壤，因此，她有著一般鄉下人的心態，要揚名立萬就不惜傷心傷身。 我們香港人就算更艱苦都不及鄉下人，所以我們不能體會鄉下人的苦衷亦不難理解為甚麼女主角要這樣賺錢。

Jacob 的說法令我想起另一齣電影: "榴槤飄飄"，女主角亦是從鄉下來，只因生活困苦而無法實現做舞蹈家的理想，反而要淪落香港做妓女。 "Million Dollar Baby" 比起秦海璐的小燕，雖然都要賣一點肉，但只限於擂台上的搏擊，實在是幸福得多了!!
