只有愛讀心理學的人，才會用projection一詞來形容一位作家對人類共同經歷所引發出來的同情共感／靈感而成的創作。根據你這個定義，相信在你眼中，許多偉大的文學作品都是作家對真實生命的投射而已。不過，我可以告訴你，在文學世界裡，這不叫做'投射'，這是對生命的深切體會，缺乏文學生命的人，即使在個體生命上有獨特的親身經歷，亦不能將之化作文學作品，叫人產生共鳴。
看來，愛投射的是Vincent你，而不是Pasty。心理學最愛將某些性格／特質，投影到另一個有相似表現的人身上，而不追問行為背後可能有相異的原因。
