1/2 pound butter
1 c. sugar
6 egg yolks
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
6 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 cup ground nuts
1/4 cup sugar
Cream the butter and sugar well, reserving 1/4 cup of the sugar. Add in the egg yolks one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix together the flour and baking powder. Slowly add this to the creamed butter mixture, blending well. Fold in the egg whites. Add vanilla. Pour batter into greased 9x12 inch pan. Sprinkle with mixture of ground nuts and remaining sugar.

Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes. Cool, then cut into crescent shapes with edge of of drinking glass.
