Also the name of many boulevards,avenues etc and a space center that may actually get back in operation.

On the concept of time vs technology the first mention of the concept that became the cell phone could be the Dick Tracy wrist radio ( small compact communication device that can be carried by one person without any difficulty ) and Arthur C Clarke invented both the Waldo and the idea of using geocentric locations in space for communications in his novel of the same name ( Waldo ) back in the thrities. Not sure when the dick tracy wrist radio was first put in the cartoon but it was back when radios were one way for police use and the cop had to call in to the station from the call box I think and no one had a wireless device that was for communication outside of maybe the military and a few commercial users.
Could be wrong of course but the technology advancements over the last century were exponential while the sociopolitical ones were about as slow as always if you look at when they started and when they came to fruition if they ever did.
