Before I forget ... Did you hear about the major security breach at the Dept. of Revenue? If not, you might want to look into it, check your credit reports, and sign up for the "free" (for just a year) identity protection that the State has negotiated with Experian. A hacker got into the DOR database and got almost 4 million social security numbers. If you filed SC state taxes since 1998, you're at risk, and from what I've read, one is especially vulnerable if he/she filed any state taxes electronically. Some DOR nitwit opened an email attachment that got the hacker access -- and -- the SSNs weren't encrypted -- and -- the DOR didn't have in place a two-tiered password system to log in.
