In fact, Median Family Income (before taxes) for a seven person family in the US (half of US citizens make less) is only about $62,000 (about $71,000 in Alaska)- a little more than half of what the Palins report as after-tax income. I think you'd have to agree that people in the 85th Percentile are doing quite well.

They can probably afford to buy their own meat. But even so, if Sara shot one deer (or other game animal) each year for the freezer, I wouldn't begrudge her.

It's the "trophy picture" and her reputation as a trophy hunter to which I object. That's not "hunting" the way I was taught it. That's "killing for fun."

You are right about "aerial hunting" (a cruel oxymoron) - and Palin strongly supported this unsportsmanlike and senseless slaughter. The fact that other yahoos also voted for it doesn't in any way release her from responsibility for her own enthusiasm. We're talking a fish, a barrel, a smoking gun here (pace suck.com). You call that "sport?" "Recreation?" What would you call "animal cruelty?"
