Well not to take anything away from the original post but chris helm of men at work also died.
I was never a big fan of the group but they did have one of the top tunes of all time that was #1 on the us brit and aussie billvboard as well as being an unofficial australian theme song.
Ham was a wonderful musician who played many instruments the most well known being his flute solo.
I was always a flute fan so liked that tune , that was also one reason I liked traffic so much with the same sort of musical diversity.

But the Band will always be one of my favorites with all their songs being just so damned good it hurts.
