Yeah my sister is in avon by the sea and they went up to my nieces house when the power failed. Power companies cannot even estimate when they will get to working on that because of the extensive shore area damage not just to power lines but also infrastructure as well as the usual blocked street problem we are all dealing with.
sis and her hubby will go down to vote but probably just come back up after taking a look.

Barrier islands like LBI have really bad damage from what I have heard so far. they did not even let anyone but first responders on LBI when I last heard a report but don't know what the situation is now. anything from A City down is probably pretty bad since that was where the storm came onshore.
I have an old school chum down in cape may and do not know if they got hit. He is on a canal so Bet he had storm surge damage.
His grandfather had a place down in wildwood that if I remember right was in a low area but he may be gone now. His dad had a 40 foot Trojan Motorboat ( yeah I have heard all the jokes ) on the ocean side in a marina back in the sixties but do not know if they still have that. He would be a lot older than us but Norm may have the boat if it is still in the family... At the time it was the fastest non race boat on the east coast, much faster than the coast guard or any police agency boat. I think it did over thirty knotts or was it fourty ?

hope your friends got off easy.

later,

bill
