I didn't know Greg attended FC; perhaps some here knew him? I met him a while back when visiting Troll Press.

Gregory Guest - Obituary

ST. JOHNSBURY -- Gregory Alan Guest, 63, of St. Johnsbury, died Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011 at his home.

Greg was born April 13, 1948, the son of Kate (Hay) and Robert H. Guest, in New Haven, Conn. The family resided in Milford, Conn. until moving to Hanover, N.H. in 1960. He graduated from Hanover High School in 1966, attended Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., and Franconia College in Franconia, N.H. He resided in Boston before settling into the Northeast Kingdom. In 1978, he married Mary Beth Furr and moved to their home in St. Johnsbury.

Known by his many friends as "Mr. Wizard" for his superior knowledge of machinery, he founded Troll Press, an offset print shop in St. Johnsbury, in 1972. He ran Troll Press successfully for over 33 years before closing in 2006. He took pride in his treatment of employees and customers, and was a respected and generous member of the community.

He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Mary Beth Furr of St. Johnsbury; two daughters and a granddaughter: Ann Guest of St. Johnsbury, Gillian Remick, her husband Jesse Remick and their daughter Natalie of Montpelier; his mother Kate Guest of Lebanon, N.H.; three brothers, David "Jake" Guest and his wife Liz of Norwich, Vt.; John "Long" Guest and his wife Day also of Norwich; Peter Guest and his wife Arlene of Salinas, Calif.; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and a large circle of friends.

He was predeceased by his father, and a son, Adam Willis Furr Guest.

A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. at the Alerin Barn located at 1838 Spaulding Hill Rd. in St. Johnsbury.
