Hi Mark nice to see you here again.

As for the proposal to " not pay "

Don't have a mortgage never had one , Don't have a credit card ( you cannot qualify without a credit history ) and do not really want one , a debit card works as well and you don't spend more than you have to spend.
Car loan ? no thanks if you need to finance you cannot afford it , buy used or get the price up first and buy outright. I can see where it works for people who have large cash outflow to do it like my nephew but he has a good job that comes with tenure ( PE Teacher ) so should be ok and if he lost his job ( highly unlikely ) he could always turn in the new car and go back to buying used and save the cost of the finance ( which is pretty low thanks to some of the things he got qualified for being in the teaching profession ) .

When I had cash flow problems I entered into a payment agreement to pay off what I owed and bought what I needed based on what I could afford ( like buying fuel for the furnace in small amounts rather than a fill er up plan which got me behind once.

Budget your expenses and cut out anything but the necessities and you might save enough for the occasional treat which is good for the soul.

Want to protest then how about all the money you probably put into the system you cannot get back like for example if you payed into unemployment then were not signed up for long enough when unemployed you can't get unemployment insurance payments any more while people who do get it get extension after extension using the money you put in there but can't get back.
Social security ? yeah it really is a ponzi scheme since the money we put into it was worth a lot more than what is going in now and what you get back is based on the last few years you work which can be a lot lower than what some of the best years soaked you for.

OK so where to protest ?
How about occupy Pennsyvania avenue , the steps of the capitol the treasury , social security admin and a lot of the places where your money has been wasted. Remember that SS lockbox that never existed ? the main people who owe the SS admin are the congress who spent the money and put in IOUs to pay back what they took out but need to borrow to do that making more IOUs to where they borrow the money from like other countries for example so occupy the embassies of the countries that lent us the cash maybe if they are getting too much interest for the so called loans.

I would say occupy the mall but that has been done and the last time it was done for a similar economic situation the government called in the troops under MAcArthur to kick out the soldiers askig for their stipend to be advanced during the depression.
