Ben and I actually attended Albert Leonard Junior High School together in New Rochelle. As Hall and Halprin, we were right next to each other in the yearbook.
I didn't attend NRHS, as I went off to Mt Hermon in Mass.
But I was surprised and delighted to cross paths again at FC.
He arranged for me to meet a certain fellow in Vt, who saved me from Local Board # 10 in Mount Vernon...
At Lazy Acres, Ben beat the stuffing out of me in fusball, and frequently covered "Heart of Gold". Ben and The Big Man would often substitute the names of local towns for the Ca. locations in the original. As in "I've been to Lisbon, I've been to Littleton, I keep a searchin' for a Heart of Gold".
We had some good times in that house - including at least one rollicking party where we awoke early the next afternoon to find the the revelers sleeping it off right where they landed on the lawn in the backyard.
