Fall, '69. I was there. If Frank says the third floor, the third floor it was.

My roommate was Steve Perlman, nephew of Gene Wilder. Steve was a nice guy, a bit uncomfortable with it all.

Across the way, I think rooming with Jeff Simon, was Dave Stimpson. Dave was an amiable fellow, may have spent some time in the looney bin before or after FC - that's my recollection.

I'm still trying to get a name to a face/personality that even Frank has trouble placing. But it's not his fault - probably mine for being so vague. This fellow had straight dirty-blond hair combed across his head, roundish features, big lips, big grin - and manic. He was obsessed with R. Crumb. There was always a huge smile on his face and lots of goofy laughter. I would have cast him as one of the Bowery Boys.

Not sure where he lived, probably the big house - and he visited my wing regularly. Not in the theatre dept.

He just had one of those faces and one of those personalities that has stayed with me. But I have no idea what his name was, where he was from, what happened to him, etc. A real ghost for me.
