I haven't actually totalled up what's been disbursed, versus what came in; I don't know what's been contributed to the scholarship fund until I get statements, which I think are only once a year. Last year and I think one other year, thanks to the gummint giving money away, I turned around and gave it to the fund. I didn't want the gummint money, so figured the best thing to do was give it where it was needed.

I have to be out of state for the next several days, but when I get back, I'll check the statements and see what has come in and what's gone out.

I wouldn't call it an experiment up in smoke - we can help a few students meet a little bit more of their expenses, so I feel it's money well spent. It's just been hard reading some of these essays and wondering where's the creative thinking out there? That is what seems to have gone up in smoke.
