There is no real "controversy" about the cancellation of the Arrow. The Chief caved in to the US military / industrial complex. period. It is similar to the cancellation of the first flying wing program.

Canada underwrote all the basic research on titanium jet engines, and then canceled the program and sent all the researchers to the US.

I've seen the last bit of the Arrow, in the aviation Museum
in Ottawa. It is the cockpit and nose, and still has the torch burns where it was cut off.

The Arrow affair is not too much different from the old CBC show: "This Hour Has Seven Days". That was the original magazine style TV news show. After one season the CBC killed it off and all the people who worked on it moved to the US to work for CBS on some copy cat show called "60 minutes".

"This Hour Has Seven Days" should not be confused with the more recent show "This Hour Has 22 Minutes"...
