I think it's not going to look like your father's General Motors when all the dust settles. And I also think that it's the trade policy that has been sloughed off on us by a series of administrations that is at the root cause of why future generations of auto workers in this country will be fundamentally little better off than their counterparts in Beijing.

But I also think that preservation of what's left of our industrial base is of critical importance for the long retreat from NAFTA and the WTO.

Well, we asked for it and we're going to get it, good and hard.

There's an old homily about being careful what you wish for because you might get it. This is proof positive that the proposition still holds.
