Sorry it took so long to respond. I had a hard drive crash and it took forever to find my back of my bookmarks.

I bought a 2007 Caliber in July of 2006. I still have it. I got a good promotional deal on what is essentially the SE model with a whole lot of options. Mine was pre-ordered before the first shipment went to Germany and Dodge was having a promotion for the U.S. military to introduce them to their new car, so the options didn't cost any extra. When I ordered the car, I did get the manual transmission and the smaller engine.

For the two years I had the car in Germany, it handled the Autobahns very well. My daily commute would routinely have me hitting the governor at 120 MPH. I put 50K miles on it in the first three years, I change my oil and do tune-ups every six months (I can remember a timeline easier than I can keeping track of miles). After four years, I finally replaced the brakes. They had just gotten down to the "squeeler." The car has been extremely dependable, I've never had to do any repairs beyond routine maintenance, and I'm still getting around 30 MPG.

I've heard some complaints about comfort, but I don't have any. I can sit fully upright in the back seat and still have plenty of head and leg room (I am 6' tall). I can also sit in the front seat, fully upright with my flight cap on and not touch the ceiling. The car is a lot bigger inside than it looks.

My only two complaints is lack of visibility out the back window (This is more of a problem for my 4'10" wife when she's trying to back up), and the hood is shaped so I can't see the hood at all (I have to know where the front end is).

All-in-all, I would buy another one. I like it, it's a very good car.
