Thanks for the response, and welcome back. As noted above, I decided to go a bit cheaper anyway and ended up with an '03 Focus wagon, which has so far been pretty satisfactory. I've put about 6 thousand miles on it already, getting up around 80K on the clock, and so far no problems, it's reasonably comfortable, and I'm getting a little over 30 mpg on average.

In my shopping around, I ended up seeing very few calibers available, and non with a manual. One local dealer had a manual Jeep Compass, which is basically a Caliber, but they wanted so much for it I might as well have gotten it new. I've seen exactly one manual focus wagon, which I bought.
