Yeah. I agree with you. I am actually enjoying the Buffy series better than the Angel series even though I enjoyed Angel more as far as both TV series went.

Heres the thing though. I never liked Buffy. She was never the reason I watched. I loved Giles. I loved stupid and smart jokes. I loved the themes. My love for this series was never about Buffy. It was about the Buffyverse (which is only named after her by means of logical convenience).

I really wouldn't mind her dying or just going into semi-retirement. She could make cameos and such.

Maybe send her to an alternate dimension where a non-powered, totally different-character Buffy is swapped for our Buffy. Buffy's adventures in the other dimension could be chronicled later - or not. Then spend this series with a different girl filling her shoes.

That would at least feel different and new while giving the rest of the series a more ensemble feel.
