Delurking.Hi!

Can I give you an advice? And,no,I'm not trolling!

Move on!
It's over,done with.No more!RIP.*g*

Somehow, when I lurked on the BTVS/ATS/Firefly sites I'm astounded at how many people are still "stuck" in the past.
They refuse to see that there are good shows out there. They whine,whine...Bitterness at full speed!...as if TV these days was just Reality Shows or bad writing.

I liked or loved these shows, but it's over...Talk about it is funny, but it doesn't change anything to the current situation to lament about the loss.

Call me an optimist, but I believe that better or,at least,as good, different, interesting things, are in front of us or already there.

Let's be a little "philosophical" in the good/comforting sense of the word.

Nostalgia is cool but not if it leads to immobilism.
Nothing positive about nostalgia but for a quick smiling remembrance about how good it was at the time...The past is dead no matter how much we would want it to be alive. It's a fact and facts are the ultimate truth.
The only one noone can deny unless one wants to lie to itself.Even philosophy can't deny that Earth is turning around the sun and not the contrary.Fact is fact.Point!
Denial...Just fake comfort.

Face facts and move on makes your life better because I think that following the flow of time/life is what being alive really is.
Only the journey matters and the pleasure you're taking in it.Waste time in self-pity and wallowing in regrets?Look behind you and sigh about the good old days?
My grand-father did that.Brings you nothing but bitterness.
The past is only good because of the lessons he taught us.

Human life is short. Now is the only moment that matters.
Let's lament about our losses when we will be dead.Plenty of time.Eternity...If there's such a thing for us,poor too smart animals.

Swim with the others in the river of life is more rewarding than swim against the tide in a desperate attempt to get back to a place that doesn't exist anymore.Sit on the shore, brooding about how the river is less clear now and not worth to swim in is also a waste of time.Even if it's muddy,it's much better than immobilism.

People living in the past are half-dead.Barely moving mummys.

Adaptation to the present, enthusiasm for the future are the main, important words.Grip the moment before it fades away.
And it applies to TV too.
There are pretty good things on TV if you're willing to open your eyes and not compare with your lost love.
Love/forever are misconceptions,IMHO.Cling to the past...Pffft!Not real.
That's why I always found the B/A ship so ridiculous! It was over and no return was possible.People change and evolve like feelings.
As if they couldn't find something as good elsewhere!
Life is move.

"Nothing, nothing will ever be as good as the Jossverse!" in your opinion. At least that's what I think you said in reading that post.
Wrong!
Nobody knows anything about the future, that's why it's so exciting...or dreading (But,then, man!Shoot yourself already!Or try to change it to your taste in an active way!)

Before BTVS or ATs,there were The Avengers or X-Files or whatever shows I/we/you liked at the time...and,in the future,we'll get shows we'll love to death.Just a matter of time.

Just my two cents to cheer you up.But it's up to you to take my words as offensive and unworthy if you want it.Not my call.

BTW,Nobody here loves the new Battlestar Galactica or the new Doctor Who?
These shows are worth watching! The writing, acting has nothing to envy to BTVS/ATS,IMHO.
