I agree with this perspective too. After all Buffy went through in the previous 5 years, to then lay down her burden only to be resurrected (still in her coffin no less), anything less than a serious depression would just not have been honest. I liked season 6 for its depth and willingness to look at the darker issues that emerged from what went before.
